A blessed few weeks

I leave today for the aishow in Idaho Falls to benefit the new Amanda's Wings fund. Then it's back home for back to back retreats and Ladies Day at Wounded  Warriors.
Amanda's Wings is officialy dedicated on August 16'th, 2011.
We thank all those whom have been a big part of our fundraising and spreading the word.

Long days on the burn unit

I wish I could say that things are easy right now. We are seeing some very large burns and lost several patients. This is all a process. You would think that after fourteen years of providing support I might be more accustomed to times like these. Truth is, we are all human. If I did not give it  my all I"d be missing out on the pure joy of helping others. Cassandra has recomended a movie for all of us to view. Sounds tremendous, we will have to get the info posted.
I will be attending the Slaton airshow on the fourth. Look forward to spreading the good word and continuing the support of the Moonlight Fund and The Franklin Fund.

Knowing that Amanda is struggling right now just makes me work harder. If she can work as hard as she is, I can certainly do the same. I can pray, send requests, write grants and spread the word about this young girl that needs all our help.

When I think about Amanda, fighting for her llife and being unable to communicate her needs, it just makes me work harder. Writing grants, personal request letters and getting the word out everywhere I go. I feel that if she and Kyle can go through this, I can go through anything~

Just stuff

Well, I"m actually staying home 3 days this week to work on a mid year request letter  for Kyle and Amanda....not my favorite thing to do, But it has got to be done. As with any fundraising venture you always get that initial "bump", then people get busy. Most of the folks I"m reaching out to have no idea who Kyle and Amanda are. They are long term funders of The Moonlight Fund. I hope that after they read over my letter and the flyers on the Franklins they will feel an urge to help.Amanda is hanging tough with her infections. She is an amazing young woman,

Moonlight fund retreat

HI, although I'm written a grant for the retreats that is never a done deal. I am hoping that we will recieve some more doantions to kick it off befor we are awarded the grant, or if we are awarded, The staff up on the unit are continually asking when the retreat is, as well as the mananement at Wounded Warriors, any ideas?
